Content will extend across web, mobile (app), radio (terrestrial and satellite), and video (TV and digital). About the Job:
Our company is seeking an Advertising Sales Executive. The Advertising Sales Executive’s primary objective will be to sell advertising and sponsorship solutions that leverage all our channels to a local client base. In this role, you will be expected to take a business development perspective to partner with clients, identify the right entry point into an organization, build relationships and create custom solutions for clients. While your primary goal will be to grow revenue, it may be preferable to work with our Institutional Sales and Philanthropy teams to drive overall business goals. We expect a high degree of collaboration to advance business goals.
We have a realistic expectation of Year 1 goals and are primarily focused on creating the proper foundation to build a sizeable business over the coming years.
We expect this to be an ideal role for someone strategic, entrepreneurial, have a go-to client list, and has stellar relationship-building skills.
Ad sales strategy – creating the strategy to go after this market, including pricing strategy
Territory planning – identifying target clients
Sales Planning – develop a strategy to penetrate the market and specific account
Account planning – create plans to grow existing accounts
Product Development – work with the product team to create an ideal user experience and product modifications to target the institutional market
This is a high-profile role in the organization, working with the executive team, including the CEO, to develop the strategy.
Bachelor’s degree in business or a quantitative discipline
Ability to deal with ambiguity, have a flexible mind, and willingness to pivot as circumstances dictate
Ad sales experience, ideally in a business development type role where you created solutions for clients. Must be digitally savvy
Ability to sell across all our channels, including site, podcasts, newsletters, radio, and events
Local media and client knowledge
High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, willingness to try different approaches and figure out how to make the sale
Top-notch communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Demonstrated success working both independently and collaborative
Desire to work in an early stage, high-growth, and mission-driven organization
