Job brief

We are searching for a results-driven executive who will partner with our CEO to implement growth strategies and initiatives as Vice President of Operations as part of the executive team. We are a unique organization that is on an aggressive growth trajectory, re-inventing local news as such, we need someone in this role who can execute flawlessly, work across all functions to make sure strategies are implemented quickly, effectively, and take into consideration the competing demands of the organization and the need to deliver on our mission.
The ideal person is an innovative thinker, is willing to consider new approaches and experimentation, cares about building a great culture, and can figure out how to get things done on schedule and deliver great results.

This role is a true partner to the CEO, where the CEO will be driving strategy, performance and partnerships and the VP of Ops will ensure that everything is executed well.

• Drive the successful performance and delivery of the organization – lead and drive execution across teams, programs and products.
• Define and implement operations strategy, structure, and processes.
• Assist in developing budgets for the company.
• Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
• Report to the CEO on a regular basis regarding the state of affairs of the company.
• Evaluate the organization’s structures and procedures such as decision-making regarding increasing market capitalization or business strategies.
• Assess the mission and vision of the organization and determine if the company is in alignment with those principles.
• Represent the organization at events and media appearances.
• Arbitrate and negotiate differences and disagreements both internally and externally to promote demonstration of Banner Values.
• Organize meetings with executives and department heads to discuss management plans and the company’s direction.
• Interview, hire, and mentor operations or other staff.
• Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team.

• MBA or equivalent professional and academic experience
• 6+ years of experience with a track record of implementing process improvements
• Bold leadership approach
• Eloquent and articulate language competency
• Outstanding presentation abilities
• Proven track record as a team leader with an understanding of management practices
• Demonstrated project and budget management skills
• Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles
