Our client partner, NCC Media, is the only media, data and technology company that represents video programming providers in every US market. The company represents every major cable, satellite and telco service provider in the country and is jointly owned by three of the nation’s largest; Comcast, Charter, and Cox Communications.
NCC Media is building a unique and powerful cross-screen (TV & digital) advertising and analytics platform that will ingest and utilize viewing data from 80 million cable boxes. The product CTO is creating a data science team from scratch to help build the next generation of analytics powering NCC’s media operations and product optimization. As one of the earliest members of the data science team, this position is great opportunity to work in a startup-like environment within a larger company and create impact by partnering with teams across the organization.
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Data Science, there are multiple open roles at the Data Scientist and Sr. Data Scientist level.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with teams throughout NCC to find opportunities for growth and optimization
Improve models to forecast audience size and reach
Evaluate internal and external datasets for model and process improvement
Design experiments to test hypotheses, measure the results and find ways to improve outcomes
Required Qualifications:
Degree in a quantitative field like math, statistics, operations research, economics, or physics
Solid SQL abilities
Fluency in Python or R
Advanced knowledge of one or more of these: modern statistical methods, machine learning, Bayesian methods (preferable)
Ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across NCC and to present clear oral and written arguments
Preferred:
Experience using version control (git), interactive computing, data visualization libraries, e.g. Jupyter, matplotlib, ggplot2, bokeh
Spark experience (Python or Scala)
