Our client is a mid-sized niche retailer with ~5,000 employees, 700 stores and a growing eCommerce business. They are building out their BI / Analytics team and looking to add a mid to senior level individual contributor.
Reporting to the Director of Operations & Analytics, this role will be responsible for providing ad-hoc analysis to senior leadership based on business needs and processing scheduled monthly visualizations. The Sr. Analyst, Retail Operations & Business Analytics will also work cross functionally with department leads of Retail Stores & Store Operations to provide analytical solutions to support the business and drive profitability.
Overall, the client needs this Sr. Analyst to digest high level business problems from the senior stakeholders, turn those problems into analytical projects and ultimately provide insights and recommendations to the business to drive store performance and results.
Responsibilities include:
Support senior management in data gathering and analysis for short and long-term action plans as well as various financial analysis on profit improvement opportunities and initiatives.
Actively perform miscellaneous financial and operational analysis on profit improvement opportunities and initiatives, sales trends and projections, etc.
Work directly with cross functional department leads to understand requirements for analytical support. Estimate level of effort and provide timing estimates for completion.
Present findings to executives / clients
Lead other associates / peers by training, coaching and providing insights on tasks, or projects.
Participate in the preparation of reports, financial analysis, and development/maintenance of other programs to include payroll, staffing, scheduling, commissions, lab commissions, bonus, etc.
Execute, communicate and oversee monthly forecasting to the field to include design and implementation of all payroll models, as well as monitoring performance.
Interpret and summarize results of financial analysis and make recommended solutions to control expenses.
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of operations / business analytics experience
Experience working with large data sets
Strong understanding of analytical concepts and techniques
Experience with data visualization
SQL or structured programming experience strongly preferred
Experience in Retail preferred
