POSITION SUMMARY:

They are looking to hire an experienced Information Architect who will be responsible for designing documents, planning for content reuse, creating maps, and prototypes that translate user requirements into a visual form, enabling internal and external customers to experience a product prior to its development.

They will specify how users will find information in the site by defining its organization, navigation, labeling, and searching systems. The Information Architect will clarify the mission and vision for the site, balancing the needs of its sponsoring organization and the needs of its audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Determine, communicate, and align appropriate architectural strategies for content deliverables. Examples include the use of filtering, versioning, reuse, metadata, etc.

Work with content developers to consult and support content design and structure decisions.

Work with other Information Architects to align and approach content problems in a consistent and efficient manner. It’s essential that we keep our content aligned despite it being produced on opposite sides of the world.

Conduct discovery activities to elicit stakeholder goals and gather content requirements

Conduct working sessions to understand display model

Map content to user journeys to identify gaps

Understand workflow and organizational structure best practices and recommend changes to align to best practices

Recommend taxonomy, metadata and semantic adjustments

Recommends best practices associated with centralized content management and distribution

Requirements:

Expertise in how users interact with sites and/or apps (navigation, etc).

Mix of creative and scientific capabilities and sensibilities

Extensive experience with UI & UX

Experience with techniques like card sorting, tree testing and mind mapping

Experience building personas and do experience/journey mapping

Experience building wireframes and mock ups to describe the experiences you are creating

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Experience with tools like Optimal Sort, xSort or User Zoom

Service minded and positive collaborator. Ability to process writers’ requests in a timely fashion, and patiently educate others on tools and standards when needed.

Excellent command of the English language.
