Responsibilities include:
Determine, communicate, and align appropriate architectural strategies for content deliverables. Examples include the use of filtering, versioning, reuse, metadata, etc.
Perform advanced tasks in our DITA/CCMS environment, where attention to detail is of the essence.
Work with content developers to consult and support content design and structure decisions.
Work with other Information Architects to align and approach content problems in a consistent and efficient manner. It’s essential that we keep our content aligned despite it being produced on opposite sides of the world.
Conduct discovery activities to elicit stakeholder goals and gather content requirements.
Conduct working sessions to understand display models.
Apply health scoring to content to create awareness of content that requires improvement.
Map content to user journeys to identify gaps.
Understand workflow and organizational structure best practices and recommend changes to align to best practices.
Recommend display model changes required to activate modern content architectures.
Recommend taxonomy, metadata and semantic adjustments.
Understand and recommend appropriate architectural patterns and standards (DITA, etc.).
Creates and refines information architecture and taxonomy.
Recommends best practices associated with centralized content management and distribution.
Understands and recommends best practices associated with content governance.
Understands content transformation and migration best practices and methods.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree, a technical background, and at least eight years of relevant experience.
Extensive experience and thorough technical knowledge of DITA (including the DITA-OT) XML, component content management systems (CCMS) and XML Authoring Tools, enabling you to troubleshoot issues and develop effective architectural content strategies.
Working experience of content development and governance workflows for enterprise-level products.
Service minded and positive collaborator and the ability to patiently educate others on tools and standards.
Excellent command of the English language.
Great attention to detail, but ability to also see the bigger picture and business needs.
Curiosity, desire, and skills to excel within different areas of content production. You enjoy learning about new technologies, trends, and concepts as they come along.
An understanding that standards should be both followed and challenged.
