Enterprise Data Strategy Lead (Engineering & Analytics - Global)

Our client is a global restaurant company, which engages in the development and operation of some of the most recognizable brands in the world. They have over 30,000 employees and operate over 50,000 restaurants in 150+ nations and territories. They are looking for an experienced Data leader with deep expertise in engineering & analytics to help drive change in an influence-based role with a global remit.

Reporting directly to the Director of Data and Analytics, you will lead and expand a product team focused on garnering user data to drive business and product decisions.

You will partner with a talented team of data engineers and analysts to ensure a stable and compliant base for data and develop a single source of truth to aid in guiding the strategy for each of our business initiatives. You will partner cross-functionally with product leaders to ensure we are making decisions based on data and insight.

This role provides the unique opportunity to shape the future direction of data strategy, architecture, and tooling within a Fortune-500 company.

Responsibilities include:
Partner with and influence key internal stakeholders and partners to identify opportunities to leverage company and external data to drive business outcomes

Lead Data as a Product team – lead Product Owner to ensure data is being harnessed across the organization

Mentor team of skilled Data Analysts, Engineers and Product Owners

Define and drive overall strategy for Data as a Product team

Provide informed thought leadership and partnership on data strategy, data management, and data analytics and architecture to set best practices and improve the maturity of data capabilities

Leverage work from our leading markets and earn from partners and industry leaders to ensure we are fully leveraging our data into insights and profitability

Define the roadmap for the platform to meet the business needs

Clearly and concisely present information or status of initiatives

Participate in planning and strategy sessions

Champion successes to all parts of the organization, including executive sponsors, in formal and informal settings

Qualifications:
8+ years of experience working in technical teams and delivering outcomes.

5+ years of experience working in data science or advanced analytics

3+ years of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.

Familiar with “Well-architected” frameworks and understands how to incorporate best practices into technical solutions.

Background in contributing toward the technical success of large-scale data-related projects (e.g. data migrations)

Strong communicator, capable of bridging a gap between technical teams and executive stakeholders and presenting complex concepts concisely

Experience with strategic planning and budget management

Experience with Product interaction and Product Model methodology

Working knowledge of agile development

Experience scoping and delivering data products to support business and analytics stakeholders

Experience with cloud SDKs and programmatic access services

Proficiency in a relevant data/development language for cloud platforms (e.g., R, Python, Java, SQL and C#/Unix)
