Director of Procurement

Job Overview: The Director of Procurement is responsible for managing, improving, and maintaining the company’s procurement process of parts and materials. The ideal candidate must know the part supply process, have an eye for design improvements, have an affinity for details, and have excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

– Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals

– Oversee all purchasing activities, including sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management

– Analyze procurement data, identify needs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement processes

– Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and labor laws

– Approve purchase orders and analyze vendor performance to make purchasing decisions

– Build strong and trusted relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

– Develop metrics and reporting systems to track procurement performance and identify opportunities for improvement

– Anticipate and manage procurement risks and disruptions

– Stay up to date with procurement industry trends, best practices, and regulations to keep the company competitive

– Hire, develop, and manage a procurement team


– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, or related field, MBA preferred

– 7+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations management

– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills

– Knowledge of and compliance with procurement laws, policies, and procedures

– Experience in procurement metrics and reporting systems

– Strong leadership and communication skills

– Knowledge and experience of ERP systems and their procurement functions

– Passion for parts and an eye for design improvements
