The Team
The Global Health Technology team (“Health Tech”) is a new group created and based in San Francisco, CA to drive strategic adoption of technology across the J&J Enterprise. The team is comprised primarily of experienced operating leaders from successful technology companies and partners with commercial and R&D leaders across J&J’s Consumer, Medical Devices, and Pharma sectors to identify opportunities to use technology to innovatively address health and wellness challenges at global scale. The team develops strategic and operational plans around those opportunities and executes the applicable product, program, partnership, investment and acquisition needs. Health Tech is comprised of 3 main sub-teams: Strategy & Business Operations, Partnerships & Corporate Development, and Product.

The Role
Health Tech is looking to hire an exceptional Director of Digital Product Marketing. As Health Tech’s chief product marketer, you will be integral to building J&J’s digital product marketing strategy, vision, and brand through launching transformative digital health software, hardware and experiences. You will develop and execute messaging and marketing strategies for new digital health solutions, owning launch plans from start-to-finish. You will work cross-functionally across Health Tech and J&J, managing external resources including digital marketing and branding agencies.

Your marketing chops are second-to-none, built over years of experience at leading technology companies and/or digitally native brands. You can deftly shift between “big picture” strategic thinking and “in the weeds” operational execution, and will jump in and roll up your sleeves to get things done wherever necessary. You are metrics and data-oriented, creative, passionate, extraordinarily organized, and a superb communicator.

This is a full-time position based at the Health Tech headquarters in San Francisco, CA reporting to the Global Head of Health Tech Products


Partner with other members of the Health Tech team to assess customer needs and competitive landscapes

Maintain a deep understanding of market dynamics and strategies in target markets and among target audiences

Develop and own GTM strategies, communications, and positioning of differentiated solutions to maximize user acquisition and engagement

Develop post-launch scaling and marketing management plans through product maturity

Create and execute digital, in-app and direct-to-consumer marketing strategies, messaging, and launch plans

Develop name, branding and positioning of software and hardware solutions, including working with internal resources to register trademarks and secure domain names

Own content development: produce clear, compelling, and persuasive content for generating demand and nurturing leads

Create and launch marketing assets and campaigns across websites, blogs, social media, etc

Lead execution and measurement of digital user acquisition strategies

Lead digital channel activation strategies and manage relationships with channel partners

Continually measure and provide performance data on marketing channels, strategies and KPIs

Partner with internal teams on Health Tech and across J&J, including Product, UX/UER, Content, and Communications


First and foremost, a champion of the user

10-12 years of professional experience, including 4+ years of experience in product marketing at leading, high-growth technology companies and/or digitally native brands

Proven success launching and scaling digital solutions

Experience developing and executing marketing strategies and launch plans for digital products (software and/or hardware)

Naturally collaborative: proven success working cross-functionally with Product, UX, Design, Communications and other internal teams, as well as managing external resources including agencies

Exceptional, highly creative writing skills, with an innate attention to detail

Fluency in marketing, SEM, SEO, and social media tools, platforms, best practices, and KPIs

Strong quantitative skills and an ability to analyze, make decisions, and tell stories using data

Outstanding project management chops, with the ability to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and move projects forward while maintaining high work quality

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to motivate and influence both internal and external stakeholders without authority, and poise and comfort interfacing with senior leadership

Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record (MBA or Master’s degree a plus)

Experience working in the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector a plus, but not required

Some domestic travel will be required
