Director, Digital MarTech Strategy

Our client is a leading restaurant brand with more than 2,300 bakery-cafes in the United States and Canada, 140,000 associates and annual systemwide sales in the billions. They are currently making a massive investment in technology and talent to support their marketing and customer loyalty initiatives.
One of the key positions of focus is a Director of MarTech Strategy to join their Digital team that will design, develop, and execute a marketing operations and digital technology strategy. This role leads technology solutions to drive incremental sales growth by leveraging, people, tools, tech, data, and insights to power a more personalized, orchestrated, and optimized user experience, marketing, media, campaigns, and CRM.
With experience in digital and retail environments, this person’s Marketing Technology expertise (with a strong preference for deep Adobe tech stack expertise) will be leveraged across the enterprise.
Responsibilities include:
Act as a change agent, set the vision and plan for the future of Marketing Technology (MarTech). Operationalize and execute on plan with excellence
Provide expertise and leverage industry best practices across digital technology components including Marketing Technology Solutions, CRM, Personalization, Audience & Segment-based Marketing capabilities through marketing technologies
Lead MarTech capabilities and tool sets to streamline processes and procedures and maximize operational effectiveness
Develop and manage a technology roadmap for our MarTech to ensure we are building an effective marketing technology solution based on top priorities of the key Digital Stakeholders (CRM, Digital Product, Performance Marketing, Digital Merchandising, and Testing teams)
Partner with Information Technology (IT) team to ensure development, QA, and product implementation of data and digital technologies are effectively executed
Create and roll-out digital marketing solutions that solve customer pain points, generating greater productivity and satisfaction with the digital platform
Translate digital technology investments into direct and measurable business results & outcomes
Transform digital merchandising and content creation using digital technology. Improve the online experience through technology, product data and media assets to improve the experience where our customers seek, interact, and learn about our products
Manage vendor relationships related to our MarTech platforms; negotiate technology contracts lowering the Total cost of ownership (TCO); manage the budgets and resources in alignment with agreed-upon business KPIs
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; Master’s degree preferred. Course focus on engineering, computer science, marketing, or mathematics preferred
10+ years of experience in marketing and technology space and managing Enterprise CRM and marketing automation platforms; including management over the full MarTech stack
Experience leading digital marketing technology and execution specific to CRM and Digital marketing enablement
Ability to manage cross-functional marketing and technology teams, advocate for MarTech and collaborate across the organization to create integrated solutions
Deep knowledge base with hands-on experience with Enterprise CRM Platforms (Salesforce, Adobe, etc.), proven Adobe Marketing Cloud expertise strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) technical concepts and tools including relational databases, customer data integration, analytic modeling, campaign management and business intelligence systems
Excellent structured communication skills with the ability to frame complex digital marketing, CRM and technical concepts in a way that facilitates discussion and deeper levels of understanding at our clients. Ability to bridge marketing and technology personnel
Ability to work in matrix environment and to serve as individual and team contributor, leading projects, and initiatives
A self-starting orientation within a fast-paced environment with an intense desire/drive to “make things happen”
A track record of designing high-quality marketing technology solutions with the ability to craft an overall vision to guide the team; illustrate with case studies that may include wireframes, prototypes, and visual design artifacts
