The Sunlight For All Institute is launching The Baltimore Banner, a new paradigm for digital first, cross-channel local media. Their content will extend across web, mobile, radio and video. Their vision is to be the leading provider of news and lifestyle content in the Baltimore area.
The company is searching for a Director of Brand Marketing who will report to the CMO. This key role will be responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s brand building and communications strategy.
Responsibilities:
Partner with leadership to understand company mission / business objectives. Develop an innovative brand strategy that helps the company achieve its goals.
Develop brand guidelines and ensure all consumer touch points across the organization convey a consistent message and communicate via one voice.
Bring Passion for the Customer and ensure the Voice of the Customer is fully incorporated into strategy and product.
Lead branding and customer experience initiatives, including communications and PR, in traditional, digital, and social channels.
Partner with colleagues across the broader organization and conduct consumer research to uncover brand building opportunities.
Lead the day-to-day management of brand building efforts in partnership with outside agency and internal stakeholders.
Manage the client-agency relationship with including day-to-day direction on the work and ways of working.
Become an expert in our customers, competitors, and industry.
Hire and manage a small team of Brand Marketers.
Requirements:
7+ years leading brand work for brands that tell inspiring and engaging stories in a multi-channel environment.
Demonstrated skills in brand building, insight generation, research, media, and communications planning.
Ability to build a brand with limited media funds, leveraging partnerships, community outreach, social channels; not overly relying on broadcast channels.
B2C experience is a must. Early-stage company experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Flexible style of working to be hands-on or/and strategic based on business needs.
Effective communication at all levels of the organization.
