Data Governance Lead

One of the brands is seeking a Data Governance Lead. This role provides the unique opportunity to shape the future direction of data governance, compliance, and privacy within a Fortune-500 company.

The Data Governance Lead will work closely with data engineering, security, legal, back-end services, and front-end technology teams to drive their governance strategy, designed to ensure quality data that is both secure and compliant with internal and external compliance legal guidelines such as CCPA and GDPR.

Overall, the Data Governance and Compliance team promotes privacy-enhancing designs, sets engineering standards, and builds systems to ensure the company is managing data correctly. Their policy is not just to comply with the law, but a continuation of their respect for their stakeholders and their information.

Responsibilities include:
Define and implement an Enterprise Data Governance and compliance Strategy

Build and maintain high quality processes for ongoing regulatory and compliance controls while managing compliance audits and processes

Partner with engineering, legal and data to understand and align compliance requirements for software and analytics solutions deployed

Build and deploy solutions for GDPR and CCPA regulatory compliance

Guide technical and operational requirements from a data compliance perspective to inform future offerings in accordance with regulatory requirements

Communicate risk assessment and/or audit findings to management, develop improvements in the design and effectiveness of key controls including automation

Contribute to the overall business risk profile working with stakeholders to reduce risk and exposure in an agile, collaborative, and well socialized manner

Develop, maintain, and improve data platform reflecting new and emerging risks

Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in data management working with various Data management technologies and data governance solutions (Data lineage, MDM, Data catalog and Data Quality)

5 + years of experience in assessing, designing, building, and implementing privacy programs

Proficiency in a relevant data/development language for cloud platforms (e.g., Python, Java, SQL and Unix)

1+ years of Cloud experience (AWS preferred)

3+ years of experience with information security, privacy frameworks, privacy principles and/or compliance requirements (e.g. privacy by design, user data protection, GDPR, CCPA,CPRA, HIPPA Encryption, anonymization or privacy impact assessments).

Understanding of native applications and micro service architecture

Ability to evaluate risks and provide recommendations / solutions in a timely manner

Strong communicator, capable of bridging a gap between technical teams and executive stakeholders and presenting complex concepts concisely

Experience with Product interaction and Product Model methodology

Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills

Hands-on knowledge of and experience with privacy technologies such as OneTrust, BigID, WireWheel, Securiti.ai, Collibra; relevant certifications a plus
