About the Role:

About the Role: CFO is a newly created role that will report to the CEO. The role will run a small team of finance & accounting professionals that will enable the senior leadership team to clearly understand the current state of business and navigate the challenges of growth.

Responsibilities for the CFO’s Team:

Make data driven decisions that guide the overarching strategy for the business

Lead strategic planning efforts and develop and own the model in support of company’s forward looking strategic imperatives
– Evaluate long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share
– Dimensionalize in financial terms expansion into new product areas including channels and product innovation

Lead and establish programs that optimize liquidity, improve operating, investing, and financing cash flows and minimize risks
– Drive cash flow optimization activities and ensure that they reflect prudent expense containment while enabling strategic investments to be made that fuel profitable growth

Create KPI dashboards and automated scorecards, and deliver real-time reporting that helps build, shape, and scale the business and guides key decisions in real-time

Develop and maintain key financial models including pricing; business line/channel profitability; the annual operating budget; and cashflow; and maintain monthly rolling forecasts and financial analyses as required

Adept in full cycle accounting (including a rooted understanding of cost and inventory accounting), the month end closing process and facile at delivering informative and actionable financial statements and reports for internal and external use, ensuring they are accurate, timely and relevant and provide direction on a forward-looking basis to support business decisions

Working closely with the marketing and sales teams to generate cause and affect analyses on customer programs
– Track and report in real time the data that is critical to evaluating business performance including promotional and trade spend management

Work closely with operations to maximize efficiencies and achieve cost reductions from product cost initiatives all through 3PL related activities

Prepare, review, and approve analyses as required for state and federal tax filings

Manage preparation and support of all external and internal audits and serve as the key point of contact for external auditors

Required:

Skilled and accomplished with a record of achievements in the food-based CPG and retailer landscape

Experienced with private equity backed businesses and key player in capital raising, including the development and presentation of investor decks, and Board presentations.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

10+ years progressive experience within the finance function of dynamic and growth-oriented companies

Preferred:

Expertise with industry related manufacturing and co-packing, distributors and brokers, trade spend, and chargebacks

M&A experience within consumer products, or related industry

Advanced degree

Certified Professional Accounting designation
