Analytics Product Manager

IQ Workforce is a leading recruiting firm for the analytics & data science communities. Our client is a top global financial services firm. They recently acquired an online brokerage firm and are building an analytics team to support this new business. They are looking for an analytics product manager to lead the charge on continually evolving and developing the analytics function within the business unit.

The Data Product Manager will love data and will work to improve the availability and use of data within the line of business. The role is responsible for leading business efforts in creating, maintaining, and optimizing data in support of strategic analytics, reporting, and business operations.

The selected candidate will be tasked with building out the data management function and strategy, including implementation and maintenance of appropriate data structures, data management, and data governance. The ideal candidate should have a strong focus on attention to detail, expertise with relational databases/structures and data analysis, and have a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

Evolve, own and implement the line of business’ data strategy of capturing, enhancing and storing critical data elements enabling its data-driven approach

Build and maintain appropriate data models and structures for reporting, operations, and analytics

Enhance the breadth and quality of data captured and processed

Creation of standardized data and reporting processes in order to make data operational/analytic/BI ready

Design and support quality policies and procedures to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets

Partner data engineering team for analytics-owned processes

Review data to determine operational impacts and needed actions; elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement and opportunities to management

Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation on execution processes and data including data lineage, metadata, and required data governance outputs

Maintain an active pulse on the market place of emerging practices and technologies

Qualifications:

Self-motivated and capable of delivering results with minimal ongoing direction

Extensive related data management experience, including data warehouse/mart, HDFS, data programming, data automation

Strong ability to think through optimal data structures for intended business purposes

Hands-on technical experience with warehouse architecture, data modeling, requirement gathering, relational database structures

Experience with Cloud technologies, preferably AWS and Redshift. Working knowledge of Python, R, Hive, Scala, Presto, Spark
