As a member of their team, you will help clients develop and implement transformational projects in the areas of product development, sourcing, merchandising, planning, marketing, supply chain, store operations and the customer experience.

Position Overview

The analytics practice partners with clients to unlock the value of their data and turn it into a key strategic asset. The analytics manager will help solve a variety of client business problems by leading state-of-the-art, hands-on quantitative analyses supporting their transition to next generation operational processes and results from Concept through to Consumer.  These services will deliver high impact results for the world’s leading and most innovative retailers and consumer brands, individually and across their shared value chain.

The analytics practice provides clients with integrated services to drive incremental revenue and recognize efficiencies.  As a manager, you will contribute to:

Client service support and development—leading teams in conducting hands-on, deep analytics on client and external data; playing a significant role in team problem solving by utilizing the findings and insights from analyses; and guiding and coaching team members

Knowledge development—Advancing the overall knowledge base by providing analytical rigor and problem solving to our proprietary techniques; developing new analytical approaches

Knowledge transfer and practice development—Operating as part of a wider firm , supporting the development of the Analytics Practice; gaining a greater understanding of analytics and results in the consulting population

Applying a variety of advanced statistical, mathematical and financial techniques to solve complex analytical problems

Developing key profile analyses and descriptive statistics of customer migration, usage, demand, switching history, payment history and other characteristics used to segment customers

Using statistical techniques to conduct model segmentation and characterization of customers

Developing and executing forecasting models (e.g., regression, time series, survival analysis) for customer growth, loss, and usage at various segments based on historical customer behavior, existing market data and marketing projections

Contributing to practice development and thought leadership by and maintaining and expanding current and evolving analytical methodologies, techniques and services

Actively participating in and leading cross-functional teams, providing analytical expertise, offering original perspectives and challenging conventional views to better align strategic decisions with a rapidly changing retail environment

Conducting research and analyses to gain detailed insights and provide clear and helpful feedback to clients

Participating in the development and cultivation of client relationships

Managing teams in the delivery of client engagements; coaching and developing staff

Representing the firm in industry forums (e.g., writing articles, speaking at conferences)

Qualifications

Superior academic results through a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline e.g., math, engineering, statistics, or econometrics; an advanced degree is a plus

Five to seven years of work experience using statistical or heavy numerical analyses; retail and consumer goods industry experience is a plus

Two or more years in management consulting

Relevant analytics experience and exceptional skills with conceptual problem-solving and statistics, e.g., statistical modeling, decision analytics, forecasting and profiling

Demonstrated leadership experience

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Strong team building skills and appreciation of diverse perspectives

Exceptional drive, energy and passion for continual learning, personal resilience and serving clients

Experience in retail or consumer products is a plus
