I've been thinking a lot about landing page conversion lately, and read quite a bit about it. When I was a super affiliate (years gone by) maximizing conversions was always top of mind, and it sort of slipped from that vaulted position as I became more and more focused on specializing in SEM. It shouldn't have, but it did.

Have you ever truly thought about what your overall account Quality Score looks like and how it has affected your PPC account over the years?
The more I manage long term clients the more I realize everything I do today will greatly effect what happens to my account Quality Score in the future.
Achieving a great Quality Score does not happen overnight. It may take a week, a month or longer. But by constantly optimizing your PPC account over time you will see the effects of having a great Quality Score. Those effects are mainly seen in the cost it takes to get your PPC ads in higher positions. Over time, your costs should be less, and your ads should have higher placements.

Mobile ads have now been made more potential in terms of reaching to the customers. Google announced that now mobile phone users will automatically get click-to-call phone numbers of the advertisers or the companies to directly contact them for details of their services.
This feature will be available only on the 'high end' user phones with full HTML browsers. To bring it into practice, Google already sent an email notification to its AdWords advertisers notifying them about their location specific numbers to be displayed along with their website URL in the mobile ads.

I just attended my first SEMPO NY Meetup. Great experience.
The meeting coincided with Social Media Week (Did you know there was a Social Media Week??), so they had a panel of social media gurus from companies like Trendrr (social media analytics), Hootsuite, StockTwits and Collecta.
The panel was really good. Sara Holoubek, SEMPONY’s chairperson and Max Kalehoff led the discussion and asked some really good questions. The audience followed up with questions and the discussion lasted about an hour.

The Latest Survey Results
Our latest survey concerns the recent news of Adobe's acquisition of Omniture. We wanted to get an idea of what the Web Analytics community thought about the acquisition. Here are the results so far:
Almost everyone was surprised by the acquisition. Only 1% kind of saw it coming and no one totally called it.
43% believe there will be no NEAR TERM (6-12 MONTH) impact on the pace and type of Omniture's product development.
35% believe there will be a positive LONGER-TERM (12-36 MONTH) impact on the quality of customer service and professional services.
45% said impact on Omniture's competitors (Webtrends, Coremetrics, Unica…) will be positive.
52% believe this a good thing for the Web Analytics community as a whole.
