This site has all sorts of data for you to explore, share, throw into your favorite stats tool for modeling. This is a place I go to play - a nice departure from the day-to-day metrics grind. Today I checked out a huge amount of data on social network traffic, storage cost trends, NBA team salaries, and rates of car ownership by country. If you liked Freakonomics, you’ll enjoy this site. One of the more interesting graphics displayed was on the increase in “terrorism” that one of the site’s visitors graphed over time. It was an interesting graph, and the individual who posted it provided some well rounded context as a good analyst should: “Incidents, injuries, and deaths from terrorism have increased during the new millenium. This may be because of the broader definition of what characterizes a terrorist act, or it may actually be a constant increase in such acts.” Well, I’m inclined to believe it has everything to do with the broader definition, which officially includes marriage fraud, drug trafficking and immigration violations. Interesting. You be the judge. You’ll find plenty of data on Swivel to back up whatever your hypothesis is.

They are looking for someone to take their massive amounts of clickstream data from Web Analytics vendors and incorporate that information into their customer data warehouse. The goal for this position is to make their web behavior data a first-class data source that provides the company with a full view of the customer from browse behavior to purchase behavior.
New York - $80k

This international direct-to-consumer marketing company is opening a new business unit that will be a pure Internet direct marketing play. They are looking for employee #3 to be based out of the parent company’s NYC HQ. This person will be responsible initially for overseeing, supporting & refining the design/development work being handled by a 3rd party agency. The CEO & VP of IT are in Sweden, so this position requires a mature and a uniquely independent person.
Los Angeles - $120 - $140k

This is a unique opportunity to launch a web analytics practice for the LA market of a Top 10 interactive agency. Previously the analytics function was handled out of Chicago & NYC. Now they are looking for someone who can face-off with blue chip ecommerce clients as well as handle significant internal practice development responsibilities (building a team, establishing best practices, etc.).

This household name entertainment, media & retail giant is taking ownership of their own web & marketing analytics (previously owned by vendors and parent company). They are building a practice from scratch and they are looking for top web and marketing analytics professionals at the analyst, senior analyst, manager, director and VP-levels.

This direct marketing agency is a subsidiary of a top-5 media giant. They are looking for someone to head up the marketing analytics function for the Southeast, based out of their Atlanta offices. They need someone with strong technical skills as well as excellent client- facing experience.
New Jersey $90k

This client is the top consumer electronics company in the world. They are looking for a BI Analyst to help them build their direct-to-consumer business. The analyst will interpret data from credit card customers, loyalty program customer and direct-to-consumer customers and help to direct future marketing and promotional efforts.
