Web Analytics Book Club

In our continuing effort to entertain and inform the web analytics community, we will be launching a Web Analytics Book Club in March (I have to give myself some time to read!).

The book club will be hosted right here in the IQ Workforce blog.

We are fortunate in the web analytics community that we have a growing author’s club and it may be increasingly difficult as the title list grows to determine which ones are most appropriate for your Amazon dollars and your free time.

We will write a review of a new web analytics / digital marketing optimization book each month here in the blog. We would love for this to become a place where comments, conversations (even debates) take place. If not, at least it will be a place where you can get the “Cliff Notes” on the books that everyone else is talking about…

Any suggestions for the first book? I was thinking of going with an early/foundation-type book like Avinash’s Hour a Day or Eric’s original Demystified…

What do you think?

  1. I would love for you to start with Avinash’s Web Analytics: An Hour A Day. I have the book on my desk and this would be a great chance to plow through it before March gets here.

What a great idea, Corry! I for one am excited to be part of this group.

  2. Thanks for the note Cindy. It looks like that is the one to start with. I was only concerned that it has been out for a while and so many people have read it already…

That said, it is probably a great starter book for a non-technical person like me.

We can get into some of the newer titles down the line.

  3. I’d vote for Web Analytics an Hour a Day as well. I’ve already read it, but it’s definitely time for it to be re-read. I think the Book Club is a great idea.

  4. Count me in! I go for “Web Analytics an Hour a Day”, too. There’s a huge #wa book list with recommendations out there by Stéphane Hamel, will look for it …

  5. Dennis Mortensen’s book on Yahoo analytics is coming closer to its publication date. I don’t know exactly when but I suspect it should be in the stores by May.
But… I bet’ya he will be extra happy to provide you with an advance view of a few chapters in electronic form so that you could write up a review.

Now, that would be a hot way to start your club!
