Week 6 of the IQ Workforce #Measure Fantasy Basketball League

Week 6 of the IQ Workforce #Measure Fantasy Basketball League is in the books. Wayne Goldstein’s Lurking Variables held on to the overall lead with a 36-18 record. Jonghee Jo’s JJ Warriors jumped up into 2nd place with Kyle Willmore’s Keystone Solutions team and Jared Huber’s Chuckers right behind. Corry Prohens’ Bulldogs had a tough week and fell to last place with a 20-34 overall record. As always, the Week 6 matchup recaps are below.

ESPN vs. Dell

In our first 7-2 matchup, Ben Gaines’ ESPN Janitorial Svcs hammered Jared Huber’s Chuckers. Kevin Love (95 pts, 52 boards) and Ricky Rubio (51 pts, 38 assists, 10 steals) turned in fantastic weeks for ESPN Janitorial Svcs, while OJ Mayo poured in an unexpected 81 points. Tyson Chandler (63 pts, 76% shooting), Pau Gasol (47 pts, 42 boards) and Dorrell Wright (52 pts, 9 3PTM) also had very solid weeks for ESPN. The bright spots for the Chuckers were Kevin Durant’s monster week (117 pts, 12 blocks) and, amazingly, 4 players having more than 10 blocks (56 total for the week). This matchup could have been even more lopsided, as the Chuckers managed to win the “Assists” category by just 1.

JP Morgan Chase vs. IQ Workforce (Corry)

In our second 7-2 decision, Jonghee Jo’s JJ Warriors destroyed Corry Prohens’ Bulldogs. The JJ Warriors had a very balanced scoring attack for the week, with 7 players scoring over 50 points. As expected, the JJ Warriors got a fantastic week from Chris Paul (77 pts, 41 dimes, 59% shooting). Less expected, were very solid weeks from Mo Williams (61 pts, 20 assists, 10 3PTM), Mario Chalmers (51 pts, 13 3PTM, 58% shooting), and Jason Terry (63 pts, 11 3PTM). The lone bright spot for the Bulldogs was Tim Duncan (71 pts, 37 boards, 52% shooting) turning back the clock with a great performance. The Bulldogs continue to shoot FTs better than any team in the league, so they have that going for them…

Sony Pictures Television vs. Keystone Solutions

In our first of two 6-3 matchups, Wayne Goldstein’s Lurking Variables defeated Kyle Willmore’s Keystone Solutions squad. The Lurking Variables got MVP performances from Lebron James (111 pts, 40 rebounds, 58% shooting) and LeMarcus Aldridge (104 pts, 33 boards, 60% from the field) to go along with great weeks from Mike Conley (56 pts, 24 assists), Paul Pierce (88 pts, 25 dimes, 9 3PTM) and Kyle Lowry (55 pts, 30 assists). Keystone Solutions was paced by Derrick Rose’s spectacular week (111 pts, 40 assists, 7 3PTM) to go along with outstanding weeks from Greg Monroe (92 pts, 57 boards, 60% shooting) and Blake Griffin (92 pts, 62% shooting). This matchup could really have gone either way, as the Lurking Variables won “Steals” by 4, “Turnovers” by 3 and “Assists” by just 2. Tough break for the Keystone team…

American Medical Association vs. IQ Workforce (Matt)

In the other 6-3 matchup, Chris Borden’s AMA Data Surgeons ran past Matt Sparks’ BRI 51 or Bust team. The AMA Data Surgeons got a big scoring week from Russell Westbrook (103 pts, 8 steals) to go along with great weeks from Paul George (77 pts, 14 3PTM, 56% shooting) and Andre Iguodala (52, pts, 35 boards, 26 dimes). Unexpectedly, Anthony Morrow (81 pts, 55% shooting) and Landry Fields (52 pts, 57% shooting) also chipped in solid weeks. BRI 51 or Bust had a very balanced scoring attack with 7 players scoring over 60 points. Tony Parker (89 pts, 32 dimes) and Kris Humphries (67 pts, 10 blocks) each had a standout week for the team. Just like the last matchup, this final score could have been very different in this one, as the AMA Data Surgeons won the “Assists” category by 3 and the “Steals” by just 1.

Lastar, Inc.. vs. Stratigent

In the most narrow victory of the week (5-4), Kyle Rudy’s High Flyers squeaked by Bill Bruno’s Stratigent team. Rudy’s High Flyers were paced by huge scoring weeks from Danny Granger (92 pts, 10 3PTM) and Brandon Jennings (80 pts, 14 3PTM) to go along with solid overall weeks from Dwayne Wade (71 pts, 50% shooting) and DeMarcus Cousins (50 pts, 40 boards). Still decimated by injuries, the Stratigent squad was led by another Superman-like performance from Dwight Howard (86 pts, 53 boards, 12 blocks) to go along with fantastic weeks from Deron Williams (93 pts, 41 dimes) and Andrew Bynum (63 pts, 68% shooting). Despite this being our closest matchup at 5 categories to 4, none of the individual categories were all that closely contested.

Remember to optimize your lineups for Week 7 ASAP and, as always, thanks for another awesome week of #Measure Fantasy Basketball!
